The challenge
Safe Harbor Texas works on the defence side of dram shop lawsuits, supporting bars across the state. Two very different people land on its pages: an owner who has just been served, and a lawyer checking whether the experts are worth retaining.
Each section had to satisfy both. Fees mattered most to the lawyers, because attorneys who charge by the hour themselves expect experts to show rates openly and tend to look elsewhere when they cannot find them.
Our approach
Hourly retainer rates for each expert role, whether testifying, consulting or educating, went straight onto the homepage. Below them, six short explainers take visitors through the Dram Shop Act, what safe harbor protection requires, non-encouragement, attendance, staff training and the burden of proof, while a three-stage process moves from the first consultation through forensic review to testimony at trial.
Our design sets navy and red against legal imagery such as scales and gavels, placed next to nightclub photography, so a visitor reads law before hospitality. Cards introduce each member of the expert team. Small screens needed special care for pricing. Rather than squeezing into a grid, each rate card drops below the last as one complete block, range and bullet points included.
The results
Venue owners and attorneys can check rates, read about each service and understand the retention steps without calling first. At launch the homepage also carried a stats bar, a gallery of venue types ranging from private clubs to patio bars and a newsletter signup aimed at legal readers.
