Bar Expert Witness

The challenge

Bar Expert Witness provides experts who consult and testify when a bar ends up in court. Its buyers are attorneys, and they size up an expert firm's credibility well before making contact.

The design had to feel at home in a courtroom while still hinting at the bars and nightlife behind these cases. It also needed to mirror how a lawyer really retains an expert, step by step, and make handing over case documents painless.

Our approach

The page follows a lawyer's hiring path. It opens with the kinds of legal situations the firm handles, including alcohol-related injuries and questions of industry standards. Numbered retention steps come next, from checking for conflicts and assessing fit to signing a retainer, followed by core services such as case analysis reports and depositions. Biographies of the experts sit at the bottom.

Big red numbers mark each retention step against deep black backgrounds, whiskey and neon photography adds warmth, and a tall, narrow capital typeface keeps the tone professional. The intake form asks for contact details and the city and state of the case, and it accepts a file upload so a lawyer can include the original complaint. A map and two contact columns fill the footer. On phones, steps become full-width rows and form fields stay in one column.

The results

Counsel can now understand the retention process, review services and expert bios, and submit a request with the complaint attached, all in one visit. The launch version finished with an animated count of venues across the country and a closing section on the integrity of expert testimony.
