The challenge
For many years, a compact crew in Surrey, B.C. has been planning kitchens to order and then building them itself under the Austin Custom Kitchens name. Its finished rooms look good enough for a design magazine, and the site needed to turn that craftsmanship into enquiries.
The brief was simple to state. Photos of the cabinetry should carry the sales pitch, and every visitor should be nudged toward beginning a project. The overall feel also had to suit the design-conscious homeowners the company hopes to attract.
Our approach
Navigation stays short, with a handful of links and one prominent button for starting a project, because a kitchen buyer mainly wants proof and an obvious next move. On the home page, visitors meet the people first, then the renovation offer for kitchens and baths, and finally three picture links: millwork, how a project runs, and a way to book a meeting.
Soft sage tones border every page, surrounding warm photos of walnut cabinetry, islands topped with quartz and cream shaker-style doors. Headings use a bookish slab serif, which gives the site an editorial, magazine-like tone.
Service tiles are nearly all photo, with slim captions. A testimonial praises the design and installation work, and the footer holds opening hours and the Surrey address. On portrait screens the hero is cropped around a focal point to keep the island in view, and compressed gallery photos keep browsing smooth.
The results
Austin Custom Kitchens launched with a gallery-first layout, a company story that traces its long history, a link to meet the team and photography guiding visitors from top to bottom. A button to begin a project stays in the header across the site, so the way forward is always in view.
