The challenge

Each winter, Long Island Light Decor, a family company, decorates homes and businesses in Nassau and Suffolk with Christmas lighting. Its owners wanted the website to do a single job well: turn visitors into quote requests.

Two audiences land on the page, homeowners and businesses, and each has its own questions. Lighting is also bought with the eyes. People want to see what a finished roofline looks like after dark before they hand over their address, so the work had to be shown at its brightest without pushing the form out of view.

Our approach

We placed the request form straight after the opening headline, above any description of services, because an enquiry mattered more to the owners than a long read. Phones keep that order, so contact details and a budget can be sent before any other section appears.

Questions are split into two tabs, one for homeowners and one for businesses, so each group sees only what applies to it. Service cards cover roofline, pathway, tree wrapping and specialty greenery work, and a row of trust points sits beside them, including the company's guarantee and a promise that customers stay off the ladder.

Festive red and green run through the design. For the gallery we switched to an almost black backdrop, which lets after-dark photos of decorated houses shine. The fuller quote form asks for a budget range, accepts a photo and includes a consent box for text messages. A free catalog is available to download.

The results

Both quote forms were accepting enquiries once the site went public, and every installation service has its own card. The catalog download worked from the start, and a map shows the Nassau and Suffolk towns the crew covers. The owners now have a site where each section points visitors toward asking for a quote.
